JOHN BATSTONE

We regret to announce the death of John Batstone, long serving Chairman of the National Association of British Steel Pensioners. He was in Athens, attending a European a European Conference to represent the interests of pensioners, when he had a heart attack on 20^th May. He was admitted to hospital but suffered further attacks and died on 2^nd June.

John was a tireless worker for pensioners in general and British Steel pensioners in particular. His knowledge, contacts and dedication were invaluable and he will be sorely missed by our Association and the other pensioner organisations he was involved with.
