STATUS OF N.A.B.S.P. LIFE MEMBERS (JULY 2010)

Some life members of N.A.B.S.P. who did not transfer to UNITE are under the impression that the Association no longer exists and that they have therefore lost the benefits of membership. This is not the case. When we merged with the Post Office & BT Pensioners the National Committee of N.A.B.S.P. became the Steel Branch Committee of UNITE (Now N.F.O.P. - The National Federation of Occupational Pensioners). The local branch committees of N.A.B.S.P. became local group committees. ALL members, whether or not they signed up to join the N.F.O.P. organisation, are urged to participate in the activities of their local group. A number of these are in urgent need of members who will take a part in running them. If you are prepared to do anything please contact one of the national officials.
All members will continue to receive annual N.A.B.S.P. Newsletters and can seek the assistance of any of the officials if they have pension problems. Unless they have joined N.F.O.P., however, they cannot serve on the main Steel Branch Committee and will not receive copies of the N.F.O.P. Magazine eight times per year. The Magazine contains items of interest to all pensioners so why not download the application form and join today?
Our organisation continues to work on behalf of ALL British Steel pensioners and deferred pensioners whether they are members of N.F.O.P., N.A.B.S.P. or neither. But the more who join N.F.O.P. the greater our influence. It's only £1.25 per month!
